ATTENTION: Character Purge is comming!
Letter to the Players March 14, 2002
On Wednesday, March 27th, we will be taking the worlds offline from 8 AM to 11 AM PST to do a database purge.
What this means is that any account that has not had an active subscription since March 21, 2001 (either AC Classic or Asheron's Call Dark Majesty), will have their characters wiped from the database.
If you have an account that has not been active (i.e., no subscription on the account) since then, and you would like to preserve your characters, you will need to renew your account on or before 11:59 PM PST on March 26th, 2002.
Any account that has had an active subscription, regardless for how long, since March 21, 2001, will not be wiped.

If you have had an AC account which has not been active for over a year, and you do not want it wiped, go to the zone and reup your account today. I expect that many active characters are going to have to find new patrons in the very near future. Please contact me if you need help getting back in the allegiance tree after the purge.

Patch day is upon us!
That's right, today is the start of the March event, Persuasion. The servers should be down between 9am and 2pm EST today (6-11am PST) As soon as I find the build notes, letter to the players and event lauch artical you can be sure I'll post them here.

Monday's Dev chat log availible
I know I'm about the slowest news poster this side of the universe, and this is probably old news, but head over to Crossroads of Dereth and take a look at yesterday's AC1 dev chat. Sounds like the next couple of patchs are going to turn the game on its ear. More importantly to me, I get mana conversion Wednesday and new arrows to play with *grins*

Quest Report and Reminder
First off Sunday's quest will be a trip to the Empyrean Cloister. We tried this quest a few months ago and met with stiff resistance. This time the main focus will be to get together and beat up some undead so we can't possibly fail *grins* For more details or to sign up for this quest go to this thread on the forums

Just an FYI: The log from last nights AC2 developer's chat is avalible at Crossroads of Dereth. There's not a lot of meat to it but there's still some good hints as to what to expect in the comming months. Also head over to the forums to discuss the chat.

New MUST HAVE decal plug-in: Big Brother
Tasslehof has found a new decal plug in that will revolutionize AC and the
way we view allegiances and guilds. The plug-in is called Big Brother, and was
written by the Smirking Revenge. For download links and some basic information
take a look at
this post.
Both should the .Net framework download and the Big Brother MSI file should be
clean but scan them anyway because good scanning habits are healthy.
Here are some of the most important features:
- Guild Chat - use .gc to talk in an open channel to all in the guild
- Quest Scheduling - list of upcoming quests and events
- Online Status - a list of what members are online, and their basic stats
- Group Requests - notify others that you want some company hunting
- Instant Messaging - kinda like a tell but better
- Extended Friends List
Everyone that in the guild that can run decal 2.0 should download this
plug-in today and install it. Even if you hate the concept of decal and look at
it as cheating, this is one plug-in we as a guild can not afford to be without.
So what are you waiting for? Go download
the .Net Framework
and Big Brother
